Thomas CHEN

Thomas CHEN graduated from the French Department of Beijing Languages Institute in 1991 and became a licensed attorney in the People’s Republic of China in 1994. In 1998 he was awarded a scholarship by the French Foreign Ministry to undertake legal research in France, where he got a Ph.D. in 2002.

He worked as of-counsel for two European law firms established in Beijing before becoming a partner of Finefields Associates, and eventually joined in 2007, DACHENG Law Offices, the biggest law firm in China.

He is specialized in foreign-related Chinese business law and has provided legal assistance to many foreign enterprises in investment projects and mergers and acquisitions projects (in such sectors as industry, telecommunications, insurance, real estate, trade and retail business), while acting as a permanent legal counsel for several other companies.

He has also extensive experience in litigation practice, having successfully defended several clients in international trade disputes (arbitration) and intellectual property rights infringement cases.
